Me & My Work In the world of Art & Design I find the most exciting aspects are the Paint finishes and Decorative wall art. Rooms can be
transformed, given themes and humour. Woodwork can be aged, walls can be painted as marble, plain
walls given views of oceans or gardens. The only limit is your imagination. For this reason I love my
job.
I originally studied Interior design and Printed textiles at Bradford School of Art. Then after 15 years as a designer living and working in London, I sought out the good life and moved to the Algarve. For the past twenty years I have been based here and for the past twelve I have specialized in producing artwork.
Most of my work is here in Portugal, mainly at Vale do
Lobo & Quinta do Lago, although I have completed projects in London and Gleneagles,
Scotland.
As well as private homes I enjoy commercial works and
have created Interior Schemes for a London shop at Sloane Square, an Algarve Hotel and
a Hairdressing Salon.
I work in both Oils & Acrylics depending on the
location and finish required.
Occasionally I produce mural paintings on framed canvas
or as a piece that can be glued onto a wall.
I always create my own artwork and for murals and larger projects I like to start with watercolour visuals. These are often based on the clients’ own ideas and provide a good starting point for the pricing of the project.
The work is challenging and always interesting and I have met lots of lovely people who remain good friends long after the project is finished.
